Haikou, September 3 /Xinhua/ — Six people died and three were injured as a result of a fire in a restaurant that was under finishing stage in the city of Haikou, the administrative center of Hainan Province in southern China, the local fire and rescue service reported on Thursday.
A fire broke out in a restaurant on the east side of Xuyin Avenue. The aforementioned service received an emergency call at 14:45 and immediately dispatched forces to the scene.
The fire was extinguished at 15:10, after which three rounds of search and rescue operations were conducted.
The condition of the injured is assessed as stable. The causes of the fire are currently under investigation. -0-
