“In total, we will be overhauling more than two thousand facilities — these include bridges, tunnels, underground and aboveground pedestrian crossings, embankments, piers, fountains, and monuments. Today, we are conducting a wash of the Novokutuzovsky tunnel complex, which is located in the Western Administrative District at the intersection of the Third Transport Ring (TTK) and Kutuzovsky Avenue. It consists of six tunnels and, together with five overpasses, forms the multi-level Kutuzovsky transport interchange,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The municipal services team will carry out washing of the tunnel complex around the clock with alternating closures of the outer traffic lanes. Tunnel washing and irrigation-washing machines will also be used. The work includes mechanical and manual washing of the structure; for thorough surface cleaning, specialists use a neutral detergent.
In 2022–2023, the Novokutuzovsky tunnel complex underwent a major renovation. Specialists restored the integrity of the tunnel walls and ceilings, replaced the cladding with metal-ceramic, updated fire extinguishing, lighting, electrical and water supply, and ventilation systems, replaced the asphalt, and repaired expansion joints.
