Beijing, September 3 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday morning, the third batch of humanitarian aid goods was sent from China to Nepal, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun at the latest departmental press conference.
“This shipment includes tents, blankets, refrigerated chambers for storing deceased bodies, protective suits for medical personnel, and satellite communication equipment,” clarified Guo Jiakun in response to the relevant question.
He also reported that the second group of Chinese DNA identification experts flew to Nepal on the same flight to assist the Nepali side in carrying out the relevant work.
China will continue to provide emergency assistance according to Nepal’s needs and carry out international cooperation in the field of emergency rescue work, stated Guo Jiakun.
According to him, since the occurrence of the natural disaster, Chinese meteorological and water management authorities have closely cooperated with the relevant Nepali agencies, exchanging monitoring data and jointly taking measures to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.
Gao Jiakun said that the Nepalese side expressed deep gratitude to China for standing shoulder to shoulder with Nepal in disaster relief efforts and providing important support in carrying out rescue operations. He added that this is a testament to the strong neighborly friendship between China and Nepal.
