Beijing, September 3 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce of China expressed strong protest against the use of multilateral platforms such as the “Group of Twenty” /G20/ to inflate so-called “economic imbalances” and “overproduction.”
The official representative of the ministry, Juan Lin, made this statement in response to a question about recent remarks by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding China.
According to her, such rhetoric essentially serves as a cover for protectionism and a pretext for containing and pressuring China.
