Chengdu, September 3 /Xinhua/ — On Tuesday, a freight train departed from Chengdu city /Sichuan Province, Southwest China/ to Serahs station in Turkmenistan as part of the international China-Central Asia rail freight transportation.
According to local authorities, this is the second direct railway freight route between Chengdu and Turkmenistan launched this year.
Since the launch of China-Central Asia freight train services between Chengdu and the cities of Central Asian countries in 2014, their network of routes has gradually expanded. While initially it covered only two key hubs – Almaty in Kazakhstan and Tashkent in Uzbekistan – it subsequently spread to major Central Asian cities such as Astana, Bishkek, Dushanbe, and Serakhs, ensuring comprehensive interconnectedness of logistics channels between Chengdu and the countries of Central Asia. -0-
