The director of the GUU business incubator Dmitry Rogov participated in the largest event in the venture industry of our country – the jubilee 20th Russian Venture Forum (RVF), which took place in Kazan.
This year, the event gathered on its platform more than 6 thousand participants from Russia, CIS countries, Asia, and the Middle East — entrepreneurs, investors, developers and experts, representatives of authorities, large corporations, and the scientific community.
The business program at the Kazan Expo IEC site was opened by the plenary session “Technological Leadership – Investments in the Future” with the participation of the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Andrey Fursenko, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, and the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Kolesnikov.
In the mode of panel discussion, Andrey Fursenko noted that technological leadership lies in creating new products, which other countries will turn to Russia for. According to him, at present, demand for new technological and business ideas is sharply rising, and Russia strives to create fundamentally new technologies.
Valery Falkov, in turn, reminded that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin called the increase in the share of youth technological entrepreneurship in the country’s economy the most important economic and social issue. The head of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education noted that the platform for university technological entrepreneurship (PUTP) has become widespread, and an absolute majority of universities have the opportunity to access all the support instruments within the framework of the project.
The minister paid special attention to the federal project “Technologies”, which integrates our university. Acceleration programs for IT markets are being implemented at GUU, entrepreneurial skills trainings are conducted, our students participate and become winners of the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations competition “Student Startup.”
On the first day of the forum at the Kazan Expo venue, more than 30 thematic events took place, including pitch sessions and round tables dedicated to technological entrepreneurship, investments in early-stage startups, support for small technology companies, attracting venture capital, development of the creative economy, and promotion of Russian products in the international market. Guests of the event were also able to visit an exhibition showcasing 150 high-tech projects, including 30 international startups.
In addition, the participants visited the A.S. Popov Technopark in Innopolis, where they got acquainted with the infrastructure of the science city and the technology transfer ecosystem of Innopolis University, and listened to a visionary lecture by the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Stepan Kalmykov. The forum guests were also presented with an analysis of the venture market for 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, as well as the key directions of innovative development of our country to achieve technological leadership.
The university technological entrepreneurship platform organized a special youth day within the forum. During the session, participants discussed how to take leading positions in the technology business, how entrepreneurial competencies are formed among university graduates, and how young specialists can build a unique career trajectory in technological entrepreneurship, package their product, and attract initial investments.
Thanks to the consolidated efforts of the state and universities in developing technological entrepreneurship, projects in the university environment have grown significantly in quality and scale and rightly attract attention from industrial partners and the investment community. Experts noted that over several years, universities have done significant work in synchronizing approaches to working with business and increasing the attractiveness of scientific developments and startup projects.
