The large-scale exhibition “Stage Art. Academic Painting” will open on September 10 at VDNH. This was announced on his channel in the “Max” messenger reported Sergey Sobyanin.
“In Pavilion No. 1 ‘Central’, visitors will see about 200 rare works of painting, graphics, sculpture, and decorative-applied arts — treasures of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and the research museum at the Russian Academy of Arts,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

The VDNKh exhibition project involves 32 museums from 12 cities across Russia. Among the exhibits are famous paintings by Ilya Repin, Karl Bryullov, and Vasily Surikov, as well as a masterpiece of national art from the first half of the 19th century — “Dmitry Donskoy on the Kulikovo Field” by Orest Kiprensky. The central element of the exhibition is the installation “Costume,” placed under the pavilion dome.
“In terms of scale, dynamics, and level of organization, this exhibition promises to become one of the largest museum events in the country,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.

It is timed to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia and continues the tradition of unique exhibition projects, which were implemented at VDNH in 2024–2026.
