Beijing, September 2 /Xinhua/ — Since a severe landslide struck the Gyirong-Rasuwa border crossing between China and Nepal, China’s meteorological services have been providing Nepal with weather monitoring, forecasting, early warning, and impact assessment services, said Wang Yawei, an official spokesperson for the China Meteorological Administration, on Wednesday.
Wan Yawei stated at a press conference that the administration held a videoconference on weather issues with the Meteorological Department of Nepal immediately after the disaster and actively provided meteorological support in conducting emergency rescue operations in Nepal.
Meteorological agencies will make every effort to ensure comprehensive meteorological services and strengthen international cooperation with Nepal in order to support Nepal in emergency response and disaster relief, added Wang Yawei. -0-
