The capital has approved the architectural concept of a school for a thousand students in the Levoberezhny district. This was reported by Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction.
“The development of social infrastructure is one of the main directions of the capital’s urban planning policy. The architectural concept of a school for one thousand students in the Levoberezhny district has been approved. The building’s area will exceed 16 thousand square meters. Information modeling technologies are being used in the design. The school will appear next to a developing residential quarter, and 150 meters from it there will be an embankment that the developer will improve according to an individual project. Special attention is given to artistic decoration: art objects “School” and “Sky” will be installed in front of the building. The latter will represent a stylized open book. After construction is completed, the school will be transferred to the city education system. In recent years, almost 90 educational facilities have been built in the Northern Administrative District, and this work will continue,” noted Vladimir Efimov.
Thanks to the thoughtful work with the color scheme and lighting of the building’s facades, the architectural appearance of the new school will organically blend with the views of the district. The turquoise-blue shades of the ventilated facade panels will create a visual connection with the water surface of the nearby embankment. This effect will be enhanced by a large area of stained glass glazing, giving the building lightness and transparency. And in the evening, the volumes of the school illuminated from the inside will become a continuation of the lighting scheme of the embankment.
Such a combination of color and glazing will allow the complex not to dominate the landscape, but to harmoniously complement the appearance of the area, emphasizing its connection with the water and creating a modern expressive accent in the panorama of Levoberezhny.
“The school’s shape is inspired by the image of an open book—a universal symbol of knowledge and learning. The blocks arranged in a fan shape will resemble open pages, emphasizing the building’s purpose. The interior space will be logically divided into age zones: primary, basic, and senior school. Each will have a separate entrance and pedestrian routes, ensuring comfort for students of different ages. The school will include classrooms, a media library, an art workshop, two universal transformable sports halls, dining halls, a multifunctional space, and a food unit,” added the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the city’s Department of Urban Policy.
The school grounds will be comprehensively improved and landscaped. Lawns will be planted, trees and shrubs will be planted, as well as bicycle and scooter storage areas, a rest zone with a canopy, and a three-tier bench-stands for watching sports events will be arranged. In addition, a space for holding ceremonial assemblies and school-wide events will appear on the premises.
For the comprehensive development of children, a universal sports ground is equipped for basketball, volleyball, and mini-football games, as well as a gymnastic area, exercise equipment, running tracks, and a long jump sector.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin said that on Avtozavodskaya Street in the Danilovsky district, they will build kindergarten for 300 seats.
