The Spartakiad “My Sports District” will be held for the fourth time in 10 districts of the capital. Participants will compete in eight sports: athletics, mini-football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, checkers, chess, and swimming.
The event will be divided into two stages — district and city. The second stage involves the winners of the district competitions. Competitions will be held among men and women, boys and girls in individual or team categories (depending on the sport) across 78 age groups in all disciplines. Participants can compete in several sports. The age range is from seven to 64 years old.
The first to start on September 22, 24, 26, and 27 will be the track and field athletes. Then on October 3, 4, 10, and 11 there will be mini-football competitions, followed by volleyball from October 16 to 25. From October 31 to November 1, there will be a badminton tournament. In November, participants will compete in table tennis, checkers, and chess. The district stage of the Spartakiad will conclude with swimming competitions held on November 28 and 29.
The city stage will also begin with athletics on October 11. In October, the final stage of the mini-football competition will take place. In November, volleyball and badminton players will join the battle for victory; on December 5 and 6, table tennis enthusiasts will compete; on December 12 and 13, chess and checkers players will face off at the boards. The concluding Spartakiad swimming competitions will be held on December 19. The final meetings (except for the swimming races and athletics competitions) will take place at the “Moscow Sports” venues in the district centers “Meeting Place ‘Ekran'” (Novocherkassky Boulevard, building 21a) and “Meeting Place ‘Orion'” (Pilot Babushkin Street, building 26). Winners of the district and city stages will receive commemorative medals.
“During the Spartakiad ‘My Sports District,’ the event has evolved from a simple amateur competition to serious contests that become significant occasions for athletes. Many come to participate with their whole families. Each year, we improve the Spartakiad’s organization. For example, this time, for convenience and according to participants’ wishes, the first stage—track and field—is now held as an individual event (60-meter sprint), rather than a relay format. This will allow more athletes to join the competitions,” noted Maksim Pezhenkov, the curator of the Spartakiad ‘My Sports District.’
Participation in the competitions is free. Prior registration is required at on the website. In addition, a document proving identity (passport or birth certificate for participants under 14 years old) and an individual medical certificate or a team application with a doctor’s note confirming eligibility to participate in competitions in the selected sports disciplines will be required. The medical certificate must be valid on the date of the event. If no validity period is indicated, the organizer accepts such a certificate as valid for six months from the date of issue.
The Spartakiad “My Sports District” has been held since 2023 and takes place at various sports venues in several districts of the capital. In 2025, more than 15 thousand people participated. This year it is planned that the number of athletes will exceed 16 thousand.
The event is organized by the capital city By the Department of Sports and corresponds to the goals of the Russian Federation’s state programs “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” and “Sport of Russia.” One of the objectives is to increase the proportion of citizens systematically engaged in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030.
