The “Active Citizen — for Children” platform has concluded survey, participants of which chose a name for a small Wensleydale sheep. She was born at the end of June at the “City Farm” at VDNH and is already actively exploring the world around her.
The youngest users liked the name Iriska the most. It was chosen by 33 percent of the surveyed children. This option highlights the beautiful caramel-red color of the little one, although representatives of this rare miniature breed usually have a black coat. Zoologists also suggested naming her Bun, Mia, Zabava, and Baby.
Wensleydale sheep are considered some of the smallest in the world and even as adults they look very adorable. Their maximum height does not exceed 50 centimeters. In size, they are roughly comparable to a small poodle. Their wool is very dense, soft, and silky. Originally, these animals were bred in the harsh climate of the eponymous French island, where it is always windy and there is almost no fertile land.
Sheep of this breed are unpretentious and can stay outdoors in any weather, except for severe frosts.
The little one is growing up on the “City Farm” active, curious, and surprises with a calm temperament. Her diet already includes her first adult treat — fresh hay. You can meet her and her parents — mother Pyatnashka and father Yuliy — in the barn.
Earlier, users of the “Active Citizen — for Children” platform had already chosen names for other inhabitants of the “City Farm” at VDNH. The children named two inside With Businka and Chernyshka, and kids — Ponchik and Gek.
The “City Farm” at VDNH is a family interactive park where city dwellers are invited to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city and immerse themselves in farm life. On the well-maintained grounds, more than 90 animals of various species live — from chickens and rabbits to cattle and deer.
“Active Citizen — for Children” — is an online platform created specifically for young Muscovites aged six to 14 who have an account on the mos.ru portal or on the platform “Moscow Electronic School“. Project participants can make important decisions for the capital through polls. They are also awaited by exciting quizzes, games, and videos that introduce Moscow and tell about the city’s history, its development, and projects for children. The platform is developed by the State Public Institution “New Management Technologies” and the metropolitan Department of Information Technology.
The creation, development, and operation of electronic government infrastructure, including the provision of mass socially significant and other services, as well as electronic form services, correspond to the objectives of the national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State” and the regional project of the city of Moscow “Digital Public Administration”.
