First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov took part in the ceremonial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation “Energia.” He congratulated the employees and veterans on the anniversary and also presented the enterprise’s team with the Gagarin Order.
Denis Manturov read out a congratulatory address from the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in which the head of state noted that among the corporation’s outstanding achievements are the creation of the first artificial Earth satellite and the manned spacecraft “Vostok,” as well as active participation in the implementation of programs for the exploration of the Moon, Venus, and Mars.

In a congratulatory message on behalf of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, delivered by the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov, the key role of Energia in the development of manned spaceflight is noted.
“I am confident that professionalism and a responsible attitude towards your work will continue to enable you to successfully implement the boldest ideas, achieve significant results, and enhance the country’s research and industrial potential,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
In turn, Denis Manturov emphasized that the corporation holds a special place in the history of our country. The world’s first intercontinental ballistic missile was developed here, which allowed the dawn of a new generation of strategic weapons, and later an entire family of space launch vehicles.
“Your predecessors not only built ships and rockets. Around the most complex enterprise projects, new productions and independent design schools emerged. Space tasks imposed special requirements on mechanical engineering, radio electronics, communications, and materials. And the solutions born from this large cooperation expanded the technological capabilities of the entire country,” said Denis Manturov.
He added that today, as has happened many times in the company’s history, the team faces the task of transitioning between technological milestones. At the same time, it is necessary not only to reliably support the current manned program, but also to simultaneously develop next-generation systems.
Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov expressed confidence that the Energia corporation will handle all challenges and provide the country with advanced space-related developments.
“The ambitious manned spaceflight objectives outlined today are embedded in the national project ‘Space,’ which is overseen by Denis Valentinovich Manturov. These are complex but important projects that will provide the country with sovereignty and independence in space,” emphasized the head of the state corporation.
