In the city media bank “Mosphoto” published photos manuscripts of the late 18th century, which were discovered during the restoration of the palace-theater in the central part of the Ostankino estate, subordinate to the capital Department of Culture. O discovery Sergey Sobyanin previously said.
Unique handwritten documents were created during the initial phase of the theater’s construction—from 1793 to 1798. At that time, the estate’s construction was overseen by chief architect Pavel Argunov—a young serf who was only about 25 years old. Alongside him, his father, the artist Ivan Argunov, the serf architects Alexey Mironov and Grigory Dikushin, worked on creating the palace. Among the discovered papers are business correspondence, orders, and an authentic payroll ledger from that era. The payroll list includes the names of many craftsmen and workers involved in the creation of the Ostankino estate.
All findings have been handed over to the graphic documents restorer. He will carefully restore them and prepare them for further exhibition.
After the conservation work is completed, the documents will become part of the museum collection of the estate and will complement the history of the creation of one of the most beautiful palaces in Moscow.
The album also shows specialists restoring the Ostankino estate. The authentic wooden palace from the 18th century is considered a gem of Russian art. It was built using a rare for Russia at that time frame construction technique.
All restoration work is carried out in accordance with the historical technologies of the 18th century and under the supervision of specialists Department of Cultural Heritage of the City of Moscow, based on the approved project and issued permit.
