The capital’s education system actively disseminates its best developments throughout the country, serving as the foundation for interregional cooperation. The training of teachers from other regions and the transfer of best pedagogical practices are carried out by the Corporate University of Moscow Education and the Moscow City Pedagogical University (MGPU). This was reported by the press service of the capital Department of Education and Science.
From intensive courses to internships
One of the key projects of the Corporate University of Moscow Education is “Mutual Learning of Cities.” Since 2017, it has covered more than 120 cities in Russia. The work is built around three main areas — educational intensives, delegation visits, and internships for representatives of education systems. Over 490,000 regional teachers have attended more than 2,600 seminars, webinars, online trainings, and master classes. They have become acquainted with the specifics of working with children with disabilities, patriotic education, preschool education, and museum pedagogy.
In addition, the Corporate University of Moscow Education held about 200 in-person events attended by over 6,500 people. The capital hosted delegations from more than 40 other regions of Russia, including Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Republic of Khakassia, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
During internships, regional educators visit central city organizations subordinate to the capital’s Department of Education and Science. The guests become acquainted with Moscow’s developments in the fields of preschool, inclusive, pre-professional, and secondary vocational education, as well as in the construction of modern schools and the renovation of buildings under the program “My School”. For example, delegations from Yekaterinburg visited the new buildings of capital educational institutions, including school No. 338 named after Hero of the Soviet Union A.F. Avdeev and Bauman Engineering School No. 1580. Representatives from the Vologda and Yaroslavl regions also saw how the large-scale program of Moscow school reconstruction is being implemented.
The project is becoming an educational hub that allows regional educators to share their developments. Over 10 years, about 40 large-scale online conferences have been held. At these, participants from more than 80 cities presented effective managerial and pedagogical practices.
Advanced training and simulation trainers
Moscow actively shares its experience in implementing pre-professional education projects with other regions. Since 2024, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Theory and Practice of Pre-Professional Education” has been held annually at MSPU. More than five thousand people from 19 regions of Russia — from Yakutia to the Lugansk People’s Republic, including the capital — as well as from six countries — Cameroon, China, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus — participated in it.
Teachers from Moscow and other regions present practices of specialized education and pre-professional training of students — teaching academic subjects, special courses and extracurricular activities, as well as the interaction of schools with universities, colleges, companies, and partner enterprises.
In 2025, a professional development program called “Best Educational Practices of Innovative Moscow Schools” was launched for regional educators. It has been completed by 120 teachers and school leaders from eight regions of Russia.
Internships at Moscow schools and MGPU are also available within the program. Participants got acquainted with the capital’s pre-professional education, AI tools used in schools, as well as developments in STEM education — comprehensive training in digital technologies, pedagogical design, project-based learning, and the development of creative and systemic thinking.
For the continuous professional growth of teachers and management personnel from any point in Russia, MGPU has developed simulation trainers with remote access. Unlike traditional lectures, they immerse users in virtual reality that closely resembles working conditions. The project has been implemented since 2022, with over 40,000 teachers from 30 cities across the country already participating.
Simulators allow you to practice real-life scenarios from school life. The teacher must analyze the given situation, make a decision, see the consequences, and improve their skills. The system independently identifies growth points and offers a personalized program.
A total of seven unique simulators have been created, covering a wide range of tasks—from managerial decisions to building dialogue with parents and teenagers. Educators have access to over 300 real-world cases. For example, a simulator called “Effective Leader” with more than 600 managerial decisions was created for school principals, while teachers have “Success of Every Child” to practice motivation and communication skills. MSPU provides not just access to the platform but also tutors for the regions, adapting scenarios to local needs.
Moscow offers various formats of interaction to other regions: you can come for an internship, join a webinar, receive an online consultation, or practice on a digital simulator. This makes the capital’s educational practices accessible for the professional growth of teachers and management personnel across the country.
In addition, content from the library is available to all Russian teachers project “Moscow Electronic School” (“MESh”), developed by the best teachers and methodologists of the capital. Teachers from different regions not only familiarize themselves with the educational and methodological materials of their colleagues, but also become content creators themselves. Thus, today the project library hosts materials created by more than 100 thousand educators. Among them, over 26 thousand are regional specialists.
