On September 12, young viewers and their parents will be treated to a collection of short films, including “Song of Joy” (1946), “Forest Travelers” (1951), “The Naughty Kitten,” “The Extraordinary Match” (1953), and “Old Acquaintances” (1955). And on September 19, the well-known animated film “Cipollino” (1961) directed by Boris Dezhkin based on the script by Mstislav Pashchenko will be shown on the big screen — an adaptation of Gianni Rodari’s fairy tale about a boy onion and his friends who fight on the side of good and justice. Watercolor, illustration, calligraphy: unusual exhibitions
The creative group “Watercolor Mosaic” presented at the center of culture and arts “Meridian” an exhibition where each painting is not just a book illustration, but also a personal perception of the text, an opportunity to see familiar lines in a new light.
The creation of works for the exhibition was inspired by the classic works of Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Alexander Ostrovsky, and Nikolai Gogol. The exhibition features more than 40 calligraphic compositions created based on translations of the ode. The artistic works were made by teachers of the calligraphy art center “From A to Izhitsa” under the direction of its director, Petr Chobytko, whose life’s work has been the revival of calligraphy in Russia.
Gavriil Derzhavin is a prominent poet of the Enlightenment era and a notable statesman of the Russian Empire, whose works have left a profound mark on world culture. The exhibition “Ode” is presented in Yakut, Udmurt, Tatar, Karelian, Uzbek, French, German, Polish, English, Italian, Latin, Greek, Japanese, and many other languages. Admission is free.
Acting skills and food in cinema
On September 7, director and head of the theater studio “Contact” Igor Novik will conduct the first lesson on acting skills in the cultural center “Zelenograd”. On September 9th, there will be a master class on stage speech, and on September 11 — according to plastic. Participants will engage in exercises to develop attention, memory, and imagination, a set of game-based trainings for diction, articulation, and breathing, as well as fun tasks for coordination and sense of rhythm.
And at the youth media center of the M.A. Svetlov Library on September 15, they will talk about cinema — more precisely, about how different directors (from Tim Burton and Peter Jackson to Quentin Tarantino and Francis Ford Coppola) worked with gastronomic scenes in their films.
Anna Rakhmanina, a director of feature and documentary projects, will analyze episodes from the films “Pulp Fiction”, “The Godfather”, “The Lord of the Rings”, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “American Beauty”, “Annie Hall”, “Edward Scissorhands”, “The Poor and Unhappy”, and many others.
