Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister, and Leonid Slutsky, head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma, participated in the opening of the exhibition “Zhirinovsky. Continuation. LDPR,” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
Among the participants was also Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s daughter Anastasia Botsan-Kharchenko, a deputy and active member of the LDPR party.
Vyacheslav Volodin reminded that it is Vladimir Zhirinovsky who is one of the founders of multipartyism in the country. Speaking about the politician’s personality, the Chairman of the State Duma noted that Vladimir Zhirinovsky has always remained a statesman and a patriot of his country.
“We do not have him. Today he would definitely be among those who stand up for the country and fight for victory. Russia has always meant a lot to him. He is, undoubtedly, a talented person. And he defended the country’s position. That’s how we remember him,” Vyacheslav Volodin added.
Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the symbolism of the exhibition concept – life as a railway track, – because Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky loved railways and, as he himself said, traveled all over the country, knowing which people lived in which region. The vice-premier paid special attention to the beginning of the exposition: on the “Childhood” stand there was a train arrival sign with Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s date of birth – April 25, 1946.
“Our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin says that Vladimir Zhirinovsky ‘always, in any audience, in the sharpest discussions defended a patriotic position, the interests of Russia.’ This exhibition, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Vladimir Volfovich, reflects the close connection between his life history and the history of our country. Over decades, Vladimir Zhirinovsky remained a bright figure – one of those who shaped political culture, set the tone for discussions about the development of the state, and engaged in scientific research. He left behind a rich legacy,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
In 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s birth. An organizational committee was created to prepare for the jubilee. The government and federal executive authorities actively got involved in the work on forming the plan of festive events. The exhibition at the “Manege” is an important part of it.
“With this exhibition, we wanted once again to remind, probably, of the brightest politician of modern Russia, a cause that grows, strengthens, and develops. And the name of this cause is the LDPR party. Zhirinovsky dreamed of a society where the initiative would prevail, where the economy is based on knowledge, where there is respect for the working person, for the elderly, where there is again the best education system in the world. And we really do everything to make his forecasts become reality, so that people — and this is the main forecast and main plan — live in a great country with dignity.””This is the main task of the LDP right now and always in the future,” said Leonid Slutsky.
Within the framework of the exhibition, visitors were presented with more than 3 thousand items – rare documents, propaganda posters, photographs, handwritten letters, and personal belongings of the founder of the LDPR.
The exhibition “Zhirinovsky. Continuation. LDPR” will take place from April 11 to 23, 2026, in Moscow, at the Central Exhibition Hall “Manege.” It includes nine “stations”: “Childhood,” “Great Hopes,” “Creation of the Party,” “Political Struggle,” “International,” “My Predictions Came True,” “Personality,” “People’s” and “Great Russia.”
