Beijing, August 27 /Xinhua/ — China is ready to work together with Indonesia to promote cooperation in defense and military construction, approaching this from a strategic perspective, said Zhang Xiaogan, an official spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense of the PRC, on Thursday.
Speaking at another departmental press conference, Zhang Xiaogan noted that both sides will promote regular and institutionalized practical cooperation in defense equipment and technology, joint exercises and training, personnel training, and maritime security.
According to Zhang Xiaogan, this will provide reliable protection for the development of each country, play a key role in ensuring regional stability, and bring more stability, certainty, and constructiveness to a world experiencing change and upheaval.
As Zhang Xiaogan stated, in recent years, defense cooperation between China and Indonesia has become more qualitative and effective, serving as an example for the countries of the Global South and major developing countries in establishing a new type of defense cooperation.
