On August 30, in the Zaryadye Park, subordinate to the Moscow To the Department of Culture, a gala concert will take place “The Magical World of Russian Ballet”. The concert will open with a duet from Dmitri Shostakovich’s ballet “The Golden Age” choreographed by Yuri Grigorovich. It will be performed by the Bolshoi Theatre’s prima ballerina, People’s Artist of Russia Anna Nikulina, and the Bolshoi Theatre’s principal dancer, Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Lobukhin. They will also perform the Phrygia’s monologue and the adagio from Aram Khachaturian’s ballet “Spartacus” (choreography by Yuri Grigorovich).
Viewers will also see the pas de deux from the ballet “Esmeralda” by Cesare Pugni, choreographed by Vladimir Burmeister. It will be performed by the prima ballerina and principal dancer of the Sevastopol State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Valeria Mukhanova, and Dmitry Sobolevsky.
Prima ballerina and principal dancer of the Moscow Academic Music Theatre named after K.S. Stanislavsky and Vl.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko, Elena Solomyanko and Ivan Mikhalev will perform a duet from Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet “Romeo and Juliet” in choreography by Leonid Lavrovsky.
In addition, visitors will be presented with the duet “Old Castle” from Modest Mussorgsky’s ballet “Pictures at an Exhibition” in choreography by Anton Pimonov (performers — Valeria Mukhanova and Dmitry Sobolevsky), a duet from Sergey Prokofiev’s ballet “The Stone Flower” in choreography by Yuri Grigorovich (Elena Solomyanko and Ivan Mikhalev). Prima ballerina of the “Kremlin Ballet” theater, Honored Artist of Russia Ekaterina Pervushina, and principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre Dmitry Vyskubenko will perform the pas de deux from Ludwig Minkus’s ballet “Don Quixote” in choreography by Alexander Gorsky.
From August 1 to September 6, the “Cultural City” festival is taking place in Zaryadye Park. It has become part of the “Summer in Moscow” project. Visitors are presented with dozens of symphonic and musical-poetic concerts, theatrical and ballet performances. Admission to all events is free.
