Construction of the “Vatutinki” station on the Troitskaya metro line continues in the Troitsk district. Work is being carried out on the section between Vatutinskiye Prudy Street and Planned Passage No. 8037. Specialists have already completed the excavation pit enclosure using the “diaphragm wall” method. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
“At the future ‘Vatutinki’ station of the second section of the Troitskaya line, the construction of the ‘diaphragm wall’ — a retaining structure for the excavation pit — has been completed. About 20 thousand cubic meters of reinforced concrete were required for it. Currently, soil excavation continues. The work is nearly 80 percent complete. At the same time, the installation of pit supports is underway: their readiness exceeds 60 percent,” said Vladimir Efimov.
The Vatutinki station will have two above-ground vestibules, connected to the platform by escalators and elevators.
As specified by the head of the Department of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure Construction of Moscow Vasily Desyatkov, from the assembly and switchgear chamber in the northern part of the construction site of the “Vatutinki” station, the driving of the right running tunnel towards the “Kedrovaya” station is underway. The tunneling complex “Natalie” will cover 2.55 kilometers. Two more drivings are planned in the southern direction, towards the “Troitsk” station.
The ‘Vatutinki’ station of the Troitsk line will provide comfortable rides for more than 39 thousand passengers daily. We plan that by 2030, the station’s passenger traffic will increase to 42 thousand passengers per day. Trips to Great Circle Line will be reduced by almost half — to 40 minutes. Residents will be able to reach the center of Moscow 1.5 times faster than now. The Troitskaya line will become one of the longest radii of the Moscow metro, as well as the backbone of the transportation framework of TiNAO. Thanks to it, the heavily used stations of the Sokolnicheskaya, Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya, and Butovskaya lines will be relieved by 20 percent. By 2030, the passenger flow of the entire Troitskaya line will increase to 350 thousand passengers per day,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
As part of the first phase of the creation of the Troitskaya line, 11 stations have been built. In October 2025, the Mayor of Moscow announced the start construction of the second phase — from the Novomoskovskaya station to Troitsk.
The southern section of the Troitskaya line will run along the Kaluzhskoye Highway from Kommunarka to Troitsk. It will have six stations. As a result, the Troitskaya metro line will extend from the “ZIL” station in the Danilovsky district to Troitsk. The branch, more than 43 kilometers long with 17 stations, will become one of the longest radii of the Moscow metro and the largest beyond the Moscow Ring Road.
