Specialists urban infrastructure complex completed hydraulic testing of the heating networks as part of preparations for the autumn-winter season. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov.
“9,200 kilometers of main pipelines and 10,200 kilometers of distribution networks have been prepared for uninterrupted operation. They provide heating to more than 74 thousand buildings, including over 34 thousand residential houses. Currently, the preparatory activities have been fully completed, and hot water supply at city facilities has been restored,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The organization of heating network tests is one of the main directions in preparation for the heating season. The main task of the work is to identify potentially unreliable sections in advance and promptly restore them to ensure uninterrupted heat supply to consumers during the season. This year, hydraulic tests were divided into 600 ten-day stages.
During the activities, specialists from PJSC “Moscow United Energy Company” increase the pressure in the pipelines above the operational level, simulating the load that occurs during the peak of winter cold. Hot water supply is turned off during the tests.
As part of the summer preventive maintenance work in the heat supply system, specialists carried out the relaying of pipelines using modern technologies, conducted preventive and major repairs of heating stations and central heating points, as well as maintenance and repair of in-house heat supply and hot water systems.
