From August 27 to 30 as part of the project “Summer in Moscow” a festival will take place on Tverskoy Boulevard “Mospitomets × Four-Legged Friend”. Its main goal is to help homeless cats and dogs from the capital’s shelters find loving owners. More than 250 animals will be waiting for visitors at the adoption exhibition. Admission to the event is free.
“We see how many Muscovites want to help homeless animals, but they don’t always know where to start. This festival is not just an opportunity to take a pet home, but also a platform where everyone can get information about volunteering, targeted assistance, and conscious attitude towards our four-legged friends,” noted

Virta Foundation brought his wards Leo and Batosha to the festival. Leo is an active and sociable dog who loves attention and easily connects with people. He can show jealousy towards other dogs, especially during feeding, so the foundation’s specialists recommend introducing him to another pet gradually. The organization notes that Leo is a kind dog; he just needs more time and patience to adapt. To reinforce behavioral skills, specialists advise sessions with a dog trainer.
Batosha the dog easily gets along with children and adults. He loves walks and resting on the couch, handles car rides calmly, and gets along well with other animals. Batosha is about eight years old, healthy, and vaccinated. Originally from Murom, but has been living in Moscow for the past two years and is already accustomed to the city hustle — not afraid of buses or elevators.
At the festival, you can meet Zosya — a ward of the foundation “Dogs That Love”. A former house cat ended up on the street, but now lives in a foster home and is already using the litter box and scratching post. She is one and a half years old, healthy, spayed, and vaccinated.
Another ward of the foundation is a puppy named Artik, who loves to run, play, and cannot sit still. He is affectionate and tame, loves both people and other dogs—ready to befriend everyone without exception. Despite his young age, he is already showing signs of being trainable: in two weeks, he has learned several commands and has learned to walk calmly on a leash.
Foundation “Help for homeless mixed-breed animals” will present Mushka at the festival—a dog shorter than a knee and weighing about 15 kilograms, endowed with calmness and charm. Mushka is five years old, affectionate, sociable, and intelligent: she loves walks and human attention, gets along excellently with children and other dogs, walks calmly on a leash, and is fully ready for apartment life.
Among the foundation’s wards “Dingo” You will be able to see the cat Nyusha. She was born and raised on the street, miraculously surviving a cold winter: volunteers found her as a very small kitten. While in foster care, the cat warmed up, received good nutrition and care. Nyusha is seven months old, healthy, vaccinated, and gets along with other cats.
The kitten Lapka will come along with her. The cat was born in a basement with two sisters and is currently being fostered by a caretaker. Lapka loves to climb into hands and purr, play with mice and balls. The kitten is missing part of a hind paw — presumably a congenital feature or the result of an injury, but it doesn’t prevent her from walking and even running, although with a slight limp.
Those who are not yet ready to take a pet home can also participate in the festival and do a good deed. In the “Four Paws” pavilion, there will be a “Basket of Kindness” where you can leave food, treats, or essential supplies for shelter animals. The brand “Hollishop” invited an artist who will draw a portrait of the owner with their pet for a donation of 200 rubles or more to animal aid funds.
Throughout the festival, representatives of 10 charitable organizations specializing in animal assistance will be present on site. You can directly find out from them what kind of support is needed the most.
You can visit the festival and meet cats and dogs daily from 12:00 to 18:00.
You can support the beneficiaries of the funds with the help of charitable service on mos.ru. It unites more than 100 verified non-profit organizations of the capital. To make a donation, you need to select a support program on the service page and specify the transfer amount. You can send a donation to the wards of one, several, or all programs of the category at once — in this case, the amount will be distributed among all organizations.
The operation and functional development of the charitable service on the mos.ru portal are overseen by the capital’s Department of Information Technology and Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy with the support of the Public Chamber of Moscow.

“Summer in Moscow” — the main event of the season, which has already become a good tradition and an integral part of the capital’s life.
