Specialists urban utility complex the asphalt pavement on the Tverskoy overpass in the city center has been repaired. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Improvement Petr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in proper condition. Every year, as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, we carry out activities to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, we repaired the asphalt along the entire length of the Tverskoy overpass, which connects 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street with Leningradsky Prospect. In total, more than seven thousand square meters of the road surface were replaced, after which road markings were applied,” said Petr Biryukov.
Earlier, repairs to the Tver overpass were carried out in 2021. One of the frequent reasons for the work is rutting, which occurs due to heavy traffic. It causes discomfort to drivers and can negatively affect road safety. Specialists regularly check the condition of the road surfaces, monitor the expiration of the warranty period, and replace the asphalt in a timely manner. The work is carried out mainly at night.
The repair is carried out in several stages. First, the existing surface is milled, then inspection wells and storm drains are repaired, after which new asphalt is laid. Finally, road markings are applied.
Modern technologies are used for laying asphalt on the capital’s streets. Workers use asphalt concrete mixtures produced by factories owned by the city.
