In the first half of 2026, the volumes of shipments of high-tech products from Moscow to the international market increased — the capital is a flagship in this area and actively supports the development of this export direction within the framework of programs Moscow Export Center (MEC).
“Moscow companies delivered high-tech products worth 2.1 billion rubles to foreign partners in the first six months of 2026, which is four percent higher than the figure for the same period last year. The products most in demand under the MEC support programs were from the capital’s medical and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as machinery and equipment, electronics, and electrical engineering. This confirms the strong demand for Moscow innovations and the effectiveness of the systemic support that the city provides to high-tech companies in the capital,” said Vitaliy Stepanov, General Director of the Moscow Export Center.
The volume of medical and pharmaceutical product shipments from Moscow from January to June 2026 increased 2.8 times compared to the same period in 2025. The support system of MEC, which covers all stages of the export cycle—from training and acceleration to participation in international exhibitions, business missions, and the provision of grants—contributed to securing export contracts.
Thanks to the assistance of export ambassadors — representatives of Moscow business abroad — agreements were signed for the supply of simulators for train driver training to India, high-tech prosthetics to Egypt, as well as electric and gasoline tools to Vietnam. The export mentoring program helped a supplier of specialized software for geological exploration enter the Nigerian market. Another company established supplies of reagents and equipment for PCR diagnostics to Kazakhstan. This was facilitated by participation in the KIHE exhibition as part of the collective Made in Moscow booth.
In the first half of the year, financial support from the city was received, in particular, by a manufacturer of veterinary drugs exporting products to Kazakhstan, and a developer of laser equipment who supplied components for an excimer laser used in vision correction to China.
Moscow Export Center, created in 2017 by the Moscow Government, provides financial and non-financial support measures to Moscow entrepreneurs for promoting goods and services abroad. The center operates under the supervision of Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow. Its tasks are to increase the number of exporters in the capital and to grow their revenue. Today, MEC offers businesses comprehensive assistance at every stage of entering foreign markets — from training in foreign economic activity to promotion abroad, sales support, and financial incentives after contracts are signed. The center’s arsenal includes more than 30 different support measures.
Moscow contributes to achieving the goals of the national project “International cooperation and export”. One of the national goals is to increase the export volume of non-commodity, non-energy goods by at least two-thirds compared to the 2023 level by 2030. The capital is systematically moving towards this target, including through the implementation of support programs for export-oriented companies.
