From October 29 to November 1 will take place Moscow International Video Game Week. It will be held for the second time and will cover hundreds of venues in the capital and other regions of Russia — from computer clubs and bookstores to educational institutions. Participants will be awaited by product presentations, cyber tournaments, lectures, an exhibition, and much more. This was reported by Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

“The event will once again bring together Russian and international developers, publishers, experts, representatives of related industries, and those interested in games and animation,” Natalia Sergunina said.

The main program will take place in the Moscow cluster of video games and animation. More than 70 studios, including the cluster’s residents, will present their projects at the exhibition.

Visitors will be able to get acquainted with new releases, and their creators — to hold negotiations with potential partners and investors.

As part of Video Games Week, business sessions involving specialists from Russia and other countries are also planned. The discussions will focus on industry development — from new technologies to audience expansion. There will be a separate discussion on cooperation among representatives of various creative fields: video games, animation, cinema, literature, and others.

Results of the first Video Games Week

The First Moscow International Video Games Week attracted over 150,000 participants nationwide. The esports competitions brought together 4,600 players, setting a national record.

About 200 experts from more than 20 countries spoke at the business program events. Moscow studios held 250 negotiations aimed at promoting products in new markets, and the city signed 15 cooperation agreements.

One of the main events was the opening of the Moscow cluster of video games and animation — the first phase of the new creative cluster in the Skolkovo Innovation Center. The site is equipped with everything necessary for producing content of any complexity: motion capture and sound recording studios, a high-resolution cinema hall, an educational lecture hall, an esports arena, and exhibition spaces. More than 60 companies have already become residents of the cluster.
