Modern technologies were applied in the design of the campus of the Moscow State Technological University (MSTU) “STANKIN” in Kommunarka: digital information models of its engineering systems were created. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.
“In the Kommunarka area of the Novomoskovsky administrative district, construction of the new campus of Moscow State Technological University ‘STANKIN’ has begun. It will consist of seven buildings connected by a stylobate. The first building will serve as a connecting link, and the others will operate as separate centers of competence. Modern technologies were used in the design of the facility. For example, digital information models of internal engineering networks were developed, and a digital information model of the entire complex is being created. The digital twin accounts for all details — from architectural and structural solutions to the technical specifications of each element,” said Vladimir Efimov.
The digital information model of internal engineering networks shows in detail the water supply and sewerage systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, power supply and communication networks, as well as the technical characteristics of each element.
“The use of digital information models in the design of the MSTU ‘STANKIN’ campus in the Kommunarka area allowed us to analyze how all the building systems will interact even before construction began, as well as how to optimize energy consumption and ensure the durability of the structures. As a result, not just an aesthetically attractive and convenient facility will be built, but also a highly reliable and energy-efficient complex that will last for many years,” noted the head of the Department of Civil Construction of the city of Moscow.
The campus of MSTU “STANKIN” will become a unified educational ecosystem. The complex will include modern laboratories, rooms for project work, a congress center, a cultural and leisure center, and other facilities.
