Novosibirsk State University and Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (Islamic Republic of Iran) have signed a cooperation agreement. The parties agreed on launching a joint program for training specialists in the field of medicine in 2027. The second area of cooperation is the establishment of a Russian college based at the university in Iran, which will open in October this year. The agreement on the establishment of this college will be signed during the visit of the Iranian delegation to Novosibirsk on the sidelines of the International Forum on Technological Development Technoprom-2026.
— This will be a unique Iranian-Russian institution in terms of its status and management, based at an Iranian university. The college will prepare Iranian applicants for admission to Russian universities, including our university, in medical fields. We plan to enroll about 100 people already this academic year. Over the course of 12 months, students will study the Russian language and subjects necessary for training in the medical specialization. Upon completion of the joint training, all graduates of the Russian College will be able to continue their studies in Russia. — said Evgeny Sagaidak, Head of the Education Export Department at NSU.
Iran is currently among the top 5 countries from which the largest number of students come to NSU. The most popular field for Iranian students is medicine. This year, a new educational and scientific center of the NSU Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies will open, which belongs to the second phase of the university’s modern campus facilities. The center will house 13 practical training rooms and 10 research and educational laboratories, as well as one of the most high-tech accreditation and simulation centers in Russia. This will be one of the important factors contributing to attracting foreign students to the university.
In turn, Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences will establish an Iranian center based at NSU, which will organize courses for learning the Persian language and promote Iranian culture. The center is expected to begin its work in the fall of 2026.
