From August 28 to 30, a festival of water lanterns will take place on the Lower Krasnogvardeysky Pond. It is being organized as part of the project “Summer in Moscow”. Guests of the Krasnogvardeyskie Ponds recreation area, subordinate to the capital’s To the Department of Culture, awaits packed program.
They will hear favorite hits of all time — from childhood songs to modern tracks. The evening sky will be painted with laser beams, and a large glowing moon will appear on the surface of the water, creating the illusion of a magical space.
The culmination of each festival day will be the simultaneous release of hundreds of glowing lanterns on the water. Guests can purchase a lantern on site in advance, make a wish, and send it sailing accompanied by live music and the applause of those around.
The Festival of Water Lanterns is taking place in the capital for the fifth time. It has already gathered more than 25,000 guests who have released 10,000 paper lanterns with wishes, and dozens of couples got engaged at the “Love to the Moon and Back” installation.
“Summer in Moscow” — the main event of the season, which has become a good tradition and an integral part of the life of the capital. The main theme this year is “Time to Be Together.” The project unites people of different generations around common values, allowing them to become closer not only with their relatives but also with the entire city through walks, cultural and sports events, charity actions, and also right near their homes in all districts of the capital.
The program of events in city museums, parks, and libraries contributes to the implementation of the goals and objectives of the national project in Moscow “Family”.
