Haikou, August 25 /Xinhua/ — Authorities of Hainan, the southern island province of China, announced on Monday that ferry services across the Qiongzhou Strait will be suspended from 9 a.m. on Tuesday due to Typhoon Narra.
Ticket sales at all strait ports were suspended from 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The suspension is expected to last from one to two days, and the resumption of operations will be announced depending on weather conditions.
Typhoon “Narra,” the 19th this year, was located at 10:00 PM on Monday in waters approximately 255 kilometers southwest of Beihai city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region /GZAR/ in southern China. The maximum wind speed near its center reached 23 meters per second.

According to forecasts, several typhoons will bring heavy precipitation and stormy winds to some areas of the country.
