The Great Running Festival in Moscow united more than 150 thousand participants. The event routes ran along the Garden Ring. The festival, organized by the capital by the Department of Sports, became part of the project “Summer in Moscow”.
Participants were offered distances of five and 10 kilometers to choose from, as well as several participation formats. Advanced athletes could choose “Competition” to test their strength and show a fast result. For those who were not concerned with the competitive aspect, the “Movement Festival” was available: the distance could be covered at a comfortable pace, with an easy run or in the format of an active walk. In addition, this year, Nordic walking enthusiasts joined the Big Running Festival for the first time. They covered a route five kilometers long.
At the end of the festival, each participant received information about their time on the course via email. The results of those who chose the “Competition” format were recorded in the official finish protocol.
In addition to the races, a rich cultural program was organized for the guests, featuring musical groups, including the band “Umaturman.”
