Muscovites will be able to spend the last weeks of summer and early autumn doing something useful — the series of master classes in the volunteer centers “Good Place” and on partners’ platforms will continue in the capital. Volunteers will weave camouflage nets, paint pictures, create helmet covers, make trench candles, and small talismans for participants of the special military operation (SMO). You can join the sessions on the resource center’s website “Mosvolonter”.
“Volunteering brings together Muscovites who want to make a personal contribution to support those in need. No special skills are required for the first step — you can start with a workshop at the nearest ‘Good Place’. Experienced participants will help you understand the process, and the result of several hours of joint efforts will be an item that is truly necessary,” said Alexander Levit, director of the Mosvolonter resource center.
Make a useful thing with your own hands
Participation in the master classes does not require any special handicraft experience. The technique is demonstrated directly on-site, and tasks are distributed so that even those attending for the first time can get involved in the process.
On August 22, they will be weaving at “Dobroe Mesto. CAO” bracelets in the colors of the tricolor for SVO fighters. In the south of the capital, in the park on Zagorodnoye Highway, from 12:00 to 14:00 there will be a master class “Talisman of Good: Sewing Cheburashka for Participants of the Special Military Operation”.
On August 25, at “Good Place. JSC”, they will teach how to create camouflage covers on the helmet. Volunteers will be shown how to prepare materials, cut tapes, and assemble them into a finished product. The next session will take place September 1. Meetings are also scheduled for September 8 and 15, registration will open on the website mosvolonter.ru. Participants will learn the weaving technique and find out what such pieces of equipment are used for.
Forms of assistance are not limited to workshops at “Good Places.” Volunteers write letters to servicemen and participate in creating portraits for an exhibition “Heroes of Our Time”, manufacture special models for fighters using 3D modeling.
On the website of the resource center “Mosvolonter,” residents of the capital can choose master classes on weaving camouflage nets at partner venues and register for them. Everyone interested is welcome “Craftswomen from Orekhovo and Brateyevo”, centers “I am a volunteer” and “The Soul of the Roar”, “Defender”, “Trojan Center”, Entrepreneurship Support Center and other organizations. From the first candle to regular assistance
For Muscovite Alexey Ponomarev, master classes once became one of the ways to join patriotic volunteering. He started helping back in 2022. His first experiences were weaving camouflage nets and making trench candles.
Then he learned how to make long-burning matches, a dry shower, helmets, and camouflage suits. He was especially interested in creating the “kikimora” — Alexey first learned about this method of camouflage only in the spring of 2026. He also remembered the master classes on writing letters to servicemen.
“I combine volunteering with work and study and join in whenever I have free time. Even a few hours can be dedicated to doing something really useful,” said Alexey Ponomarev.
