The 2026 admissions campaign is coming to an end. Almost everyone has already seen themselves on the list of admitted candidates on the website Admission 2026 and are already preparing for student life, new acquaintances, and discoveries. Already admissions for budget-funded places in bachelor’s and specialist programs have ended, and now the results of admission to budgetary and contract places at the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education of SPbPU have been summed up.

This year, more than 7,900 applications were submitted for training at ISPO. 555 people were enrolled on a budget, of which 405 were funded by the federal budget, and 150 were funded by the funds of Saint Petersburg.

Applications for the budget form were accepted in nine areas, and for the contract form of education — in twelve. The average passing score (average certificate score) at ISPO has increased compared to 2025, and now stands at 4.44 points.

There was traditionally high competition for IT specialties. In addition, this year, applicants showed increased interest in engineering fields, as well as in “Cooking and Confectionery.” In 2026, there was also a heightened demand for contract-based education.

We see from the results of budget enrolment of applicants an increase in passing scores across all specialties compared to 2025. This indicates that our college team worked very productively on career guidance throughout the entire year, and as a result, we made a strong intake. I am grateful to all my colleagues and, of course, to our senior students who participated in the admissions campaign during the summer period. Congratulations on enrolling to everyone who found themselves in the orders! You have become part of the big family of polytechnic students,” said Roman Baybikov, director of the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education at SPbPU.

Since 2012, the Institute of Secondary Vocational Education has been a structural subdivision of the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. Previously, it was called the “University Polytechnic College”, and before that, it was composed of two separate educational institutions — the Radiopolitechnicum on Engels Avenue and the Economic-Technological Food College on Primorsky Avenue.

The close connection with the higher education institution ensures that ISPO maintains a high level of teaching in both theoretical and practical disciplines, and also provides students with the opportunity to utilize all the resources of the university — from laboratories and libraries to sports complexes and student activities. Therefore, the students who are currently receiving their first profession at ISPO are already considering continuing their studies at Polytech. The faculty of SPbPU also conducts classes at ISPO, thereby ensuring the continuity of educational programs.
