A special program for children and their parents will take place in seven parks of the capital Department of Culture within the framework of III Moscow International Cinema Week and project “Summer in Moscow”. More than 25 events will take place over seven days, including over 20 film screenings and daily two-hour programs with professional animators. Popular cartoons will be shown in outdoor summer cinemas. Children will also be able to get face painting, draw, and participate in animation programs.
The children’s program will cover different districts of the capital and will last all week. It will start on August 24 in the 50th Anniversary of October Park, and then move to Vorontsovsky Park, “Khodynskoye Pole” Park, Mitino Landscape Park, as well as Tagansky and Izmailovsky Parks. On August 30, the final venue will be the Olympic Village Park.
The program is designed for various types of family recreation. Guests can come specifically for the big film screening, join the animation program, or spend several hours in the park alternating between watching movies, playing games, and doing creative activities. Each day the events will start at 1:00 PM and continue until the end of the last daytime screening.
Alongside the film screenings for children, professional animators will be working. The kids will be able to dance, jump, play tag, and take part in other entertainment activities.
The film screening program will include Russian animated films and full-length family movies. Viewers will see the animated series “Turbozaurs” — stories about young dinosaurs living in a modern city and constantly getting into amusing adventures, as well as animated collections from “Soyuzmultfilm.”
The feature-length program will be complemented by the films “Belka and Strelka. Star Dogs” about the adventures of space dogs sent into orbit, and “Belka and Strelka: Lunar Adventures” — about the heroes’ new space journey, this time related to Earth’s satellite.
With the support of the film company “Volga,” the second half of the week will continue with adventurous animation. Viewers will be shown the films “The Amazing Maurice” — the story of a clever street cat and his unusual company setting off for new adventures; “Gurvinek: The Magic Game” — about a boy who finds himself inside his favorite computer game; “Charlie the Wonder Dog” — about an extraordinary dog able to amaze those around him with his talents; “Samurai Dog and the City of Cats” — about a brave dog who becomes the protector of a cat city; and “Little Trucks” — a heartwarming story about little trucks and their big adventures.
All events of the children’s program will take place in open-air park cinemas. The program is designed for a family audience and is suitable for visitors over six years old. Admission to all events is free, and no prior registration is required.
Children’s Program Schedule
On August 24 50th Anniversary of October Park At 13:00, the screening of “Turbozaurs” will take place, at 14:00 there will be the animation program “Soyuzmultfilm”, and at 15:30 — the screening of the film “Belka and Strelka. Star Dogs”.
