Financial news: Maintain access to Exchange services: install Russian certificates.

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Foreign certification authorities have begun revoking the TLS certificates of the Moscow Exchange. The Exchange’s services are being transitioned to certificates from the National Certification Authority (NCA) of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development.

What this means for you. If nothing is done, when entering the site and Exchange services, the browser will display a warning “Connection is not secure”, and API integrations will start returning a certificate verification error.

What needs to be done — choose one option:

  • Install Russian certificates (recommended). Download the root and issuing certificates from https://www.gosuslugi.ru/crt and install them according to the instructions for your operating system. Takes about 5 minutes, works in all browsers and programs.
  • Use Yandex Browser (https://browser.yandex.ru) or Atom (https://browser.ru). They already have the certificates embedded, so there’s no need to install anything.

If you have integrations set up with the Exchange (API, trading and information systems) — one browser is not enough: certificates must be installed in the trust stores on servers and in applications. Provide the instructions to your IT department.

We recommend doing this in advance — the exact recall date depends on the actions of foreign certification authorities and can occur at any time.
