Capital libraries and cultural centers have launched the digital project “Kultstart.” This is a special page on the website of the Moscow Directorate for the Development of Cultural Centers (Mosrazvitie), which gathers information about creative competitions and festivals of the capital’s cultural institutions. The new tool helps participants find suitable events faster and keep track of application deadlines.
On one page, current creative competitions are presented — from vocal and choreography contests to literary festivals and robotics competitions. The project allows creative teams and solo participants to choose an event taking into account their age and area of interest.
Every year, hundreds of contests and festivals are held in libraries and cultural centers of the capital for children and adults. Among them are the Moscow Review and Critique Contest “Thoughtful Reader”, the festival-competition “Marathon of School Theaters”, the Moscow Poetry Championship named after V.V. Mayakovsky, the robotics competition “Robosumo”, and other projects. “Kultstart” unites information about them in one digital space.
The project is designed for schoolchildren, students, young authors, creative teams, and everyone who wants to participate in the city’s cultural initiatives. It also helps cultural institutions present their programs in the digital environment.
Thus, the Moscow Poetry Championship named after V.V. Mayakovsky is an annual tournament in which participants compete in various genres, including performance, poetic translation, and impromptu poetry. Within the framework of the “Thoughtful Reader” contest, participants write reviews of books from the annual recommended catalogs “100 Best New Books for Children and Teenagers.”
Another example is the All-Russian Festival of Folk Art “ZIL: Code of Traditions,” which combines folklore and modern forms of art. Participants compete in categories for the best folk song, costume, and work in the decorative and applied arts technique.
The project page includes filters by direction, age, and participation format. Users can learn about the event procedures, application deadlines, organizers, and find links to the competition regulations. At the top of the page, there is a selection of upcoming events and announcements of new happenings.
You can familiarize yourself with the “Cultstart” project on the official website Mosdevelopment. Participation in most contests is free of charge.
