Shijiazhuang, August 20 /Xinhua/ — Eight people died and three others were injured as a result of a fire that broke out in a retail store on the 1st floor of a residential building in Qinhuangdao city /Hebei Province, North China/, local authorities reported.
The fire broke out around 03:40 on Thursday in one of the stores located in the Haigan district of this city. Fire service personnel, emergency management agencies, health, and public safety departments promptly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations, the district administration reported.
The open flame at the incident site was extinguished at 04:30. Three injured individuals were hospitalized, and their vital signs are stable.
