At the MosKino film park, subordinate to the metropolitan To the Department of Culture, the summer camp “Youth of Moscow“. It brought together about 4,500 participants not only from the capital and the Moscow region, but also from other regions of Russia and foreign countries. Participants of the 12 thematic sessions underwent intensive training under the guidance of experts, met with famous artists and athletes, developed professional and creative skills, and also applied the acquired knowledge in practice.

The guys also developed a deep understanding of the history and culture of their country. Moreover, we built a system where every day was filled with live communication with experts and heroes of our time. This gave the guys invaluable firsthand experience and the opportunity to see familiar things from a completely new perspective,” noted

Safety and Patriotic Education
The camp program included lessons on urban safety basics and expert lectures. Young people competed in sports tracks as teams. It was necessary to complete special stations where, under the guidance of instructors, the participants learned to provide first aid, use personal mobility devices, studied the basics of cybersecurity, and much more.
Special attention was paid to teamwork and patriotic education. Historical quizzes, lectures about the history of the capital, a festival of traditional games of the peoples of Russia, as well as meetings with participants of the special military operation and veterans of combat operations from the patriotic club “City of Heroes Moscow” were held for the kids, who joined in the folk games and sports track challenges. This allowed them to interact with the youth in an informal setting.
At the second meeting of representatives of public organizations, professional athletes, and activists who are already shaping the youth policy agenda of the capital today, Dmitry Sidorov, chairman of the Moscow branch of the Russian Military Historical Society (RMHS), visited. Experts from the Moscow branch of RMHS conducted a lecture titled “Nikolay Alekseev. The Best Mayor of Pre-revolutionary Moscow.” The attendees were shown an authorial film by Vladimir Medinsky — a Russian state and political figure and assistant to the President of the Russian Federation. In addition, a quiz titled “Moscow on the Threshold of the 19th–20th Centuries” was organized for the young people.
At the sixth session of the open dialogue, Nikolai Orlov, Executive Director of the Moscow branch of the Russian Military Historical Society, a veteran of the special military operation, and a graduate of the “Time of Heroes” program, and Igor Melnichenko, Chairman of the Moscow city regional branch of DOSAAF Russia, spoke.
After the historical and educational meeting, two exhibitions were organized. One of them — “Heroes and Feats” — was dedicated to the participants of the special military operation, the life stories, and heroics of natives from various corners of our country. The exhibition “Mirror of War” showcased the works of illustrator Pyotr Sklyar, which reveal the theme of the continuity of the military exploits of our warriors from the times of the Great Patriotic War to the special military operation.
The star guests of one of the shifts included Russia’s first Olympic champion in women’s singles figure skating, Adelina Sotnikova, and two-time Olympic champion, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Chairman of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation, Vyacheslav Fetisov. The guests spoke with the youth about love for the Motherland, overcoming difficulties, the path to victory, and shared sports secrets. In addition, the young people met with participants of the musical project “Cossacks Make Hits” and heard their compositions performed live.
Acting skills
For creative kids, master classes in acting, choreography, and oratory skills were organized. For example, young cheerleaders and support group members learned acrobatics and stage work, dance groups mastered various choreography styles, and directors worked on creating short films.
During each shift, the participants, together with the mentors, prepared creative performances which they presented at the final concerts. This not only allowed talents to be revealed but also helped find like-minded people for future projects.
Not a day without sports
Every morning at the camp began with the singing of the Russian anthem and a traditional workout, for which the camp team prepared a set of exercises. During one of the sessions, a special guest was Agunda Bedoeva — a basketball player and finalist of the show “Bogatyry Games.” She led the workout for the children and talked about her sports journey.
Folk dances and creativity
For the participants, master classes in the Russian folk dance “Kalinka” were also organized, which were learned by the entire shift. The choreography became a tradition and a special symbol of each trip, as well as the unfolding of a huge Russian flag.
In the evenings, the camp held events dedicated to Russian culture, including the “Russian Evening Gathering,” musical bingo, and the contest “The Beautiful Maiden and the Good Fellow of the Camp,” where participants competed in intellectual and creative stages. During the contest in the first session, one participant even proposed marriage to his beloved. And during the session that brought together activists from the Moscow International Friendship Club and representatives of the peoples of Russia, a folk costume show was organized.
Fundamentals of a Career Path
During the career change program, experts conducted consultations and career orientation tests. One of the participants of the event was invited to an interview afterward. Combat veterans from the patriotic club “City of Heroes Moscow” also underwent neuro-orientation. Additionally, a team quest was held at the volunteer shift. During the game, the young people overcame an obstacle course, assembled a first aid kit, and made a dry army shower. The items will be sent as part of humanitarian aid to residents of new and border regions. A dialogue with experts in the field of volunteering — representatives of the “Naked Hearts” foundation — also took place here.
Each shift culminated in final concerts and the presentation of their own projects, which allowed young people not only to showcase their talents but also to find like-minded individuals for future projects.
The final show took place at the Kolomenskoye museum-reserve, where the best dancers, vocalists, musicians, actors, and directors of five creative sessions performed. A musical about Russia was presented at the concert.
Accommodation and participation in the summer camp are free of charge. To become part of the project, young people aged 18 to 35 needed to register on the “Moscow Youth” portal and provide portfolio.

The camp was organized as part of the project “Summer in Moscow”. This is the main event of the season, which has already become a good tradition and an integral part of the life of the capital. The main theme of this year is “Time to be together.” The project unites people of different generations around common values, allowing them to become closer not only to their relatives but also to the entire city during walks, cultural and sporting events, charity campaigns, and also right next to home in all districts of the capital.
“Opportunities for Youth 3.0” is a modern ecosystem of measures aimed at creating conditions for the self-realization of young people. It provides the opportunity to participate in developing advanced solutions, try one’s hand at scientific activities, public service, and international cooperation.
