On August 16, the graduation gala concert of the “Tchaikovsky” Summer Ballet School was held with tremendous success at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing.

The program featured masterpieces by Tchaikovsky, Gluck, Minkus, Adam, and Saint-Saëns. The audience saw barre exercises, variations from “Le Corsaire” and “Don Quixote,” the Russian dance from “The Nutcracker,” the miniature “Swan,” “Pasodoble,” “The Star’s Path,” and, of course, the final dance of all the school’s participants.
The head of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, Tatyana Urzhumtseva, noted: “The Russian Cultural Center has always been and remains a place where cultures meet, where new talents are born, and where the traditions of Russian art find their devoted admirers. We hope that the Tchaikovsky Ballet School will be able to ignite the stars of Chinese ballet. We believe that soon graduates of our school will shine on world stages alongside Russian artists.”
The Tchaikovsky Summer Ballet School took place at the RCC from August 11 to 16. Young participants mastered classical dance, acting skills, and rehearsed repertoire pieces. All of this was under the guidance of leading artists from Saint Petersburg, bearers of the great Russian ballet tradition.
