Representatives of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering took part in the festival on August 9, dedicated to the Day marking the end of the Leningrad Battle.
The historical-patriotic festival “Memory of the Road of Life” took place in the village of Nevskaya Dubrovka, in the area of the famous Nevsky Pyatachok — a bridgehead where the fiercest battles took place during the defense of Leningrad.
Our university was represented by students and staff who are members of the Patriotic Club and the Auto Club of SPbGASU. They attended the cornerstone laying ceremony for the future “Nevsky Pyatachok” museum, laid flowers at the worship cross, the pillbox-monument on the Neva riverbank, honored the memory of the fallen at the mass war grave, and at the Unknown Soldier monument.

In addition, our participants attended a concert featuring songs from the war years and performances dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, visited the festival’s interactive areas: a laser shooting range, a reenactment of the medical battalion and headquarters operations. They also studied samples of military equipment and weapons from the Great Patriotic War period, and took part in weaving camouflage nets for the needs of the special military operation.
