In honor of City Day, the mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny, Nail Magdeev, awarded residents who made a significant contribution to the development of Avtograd. Among the awardees were employees of PJSC KAMAZ.
The award ceremony took place at the Palace of Celebrations. The honorary title of “Honored Mechanical Engineer of the Republic of Tatarstan” was awarded to Maria Volkova, a core maker at the Foundry Plant, and Pyotr Prokhorov, a fitter-toolmaker at the Repair and Tooling Plant. A letter of appreciation from the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan was received by Yevgeny Kildyushov, the deputy chief technologist of the foundry plant. In total, 22 residents of Naberezhnye Chelny were awarded on this day.

It is inseparably connected with the construction of the largest automobile plant in the country and the world, which distinguishes us from many other industrial centers of the Soviet Union and modern Russia, – addressed those present Mayor of the city Nail Magdeev. – In a historically short period, an automotive giant and a modern city of half a million were built on the banks of the Kama. Of course, state assistance, large-scale resources, and advanced technologies were important. But most importantly, in this story, it is the people. Those who came here and, despite unfavorable conditions, did everything to establish a factory and a beautiful, well-maintained city. The current generation of Chelny residents, in my opinion, honorably continues the noble work of the pioneers..
