Beijing, August 12 /Xinhua/ — Chinese airline Air China on Wednesday launched its first international flight on the Beijing – Ulaanbaatar route, operated by the domestically developed C919 aircraft, the airline reported.

The plane, operating flight CA723, departed from Beijing Capital International Airport around 15:00, marking a new stage in the commercial operation history of the C919 aircraft since its first commercial flight on May 28, 2023.

The C919 is the first domestically developed Chinese jet airliner that meets international airworthiness standards and has registered independent intellectual property rights.

Currently, the Air China fleet includes 12 C919 aircraft. In addition, such aircraft are also operated by China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines.

According to data from the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, the developer of the aircraft, as of August 10, C919 planes serviced 57 routes connecting 25 cities and transported over 7.5 million passengers. -0-
