Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting on the situation in the domestic fuel market with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Agriculture, Federal Antimonopoly Service, Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, regional governors, and industry companies.
The Ministry of Energy reported on the current situation in the petroleum products segment and the measures being taken to ensure the domestic fuel market. It was noted that, to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market, the Government extended the reduced mandatory sales quota for gasoline in exchange trades at 10% from September 30 to December 31, 2026. The new document allows, when fulfilling the mandatory quota for exchange sales of gasoline and diesel, to also count volumes of fuel sold through targeted exchange deals and over-the-counter supply contracts, where the end buyers are agricultural producers or organizations providing northern deliveries. This decision is aimed at supplying gasoline and diesel to strategically important categories of consumers.
The FAS provided monitoring data on fuel prices broken down by product types and regions. The agency noted that work continues on controlling pricing in the regions of the country and curbing unjustified increases in the cost of petroleum products at private gas stations.
The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic noted positive progress in ensuring the supply of petroleum products under the northern delivery program. The meeting also discussed the fulfillment of tasks for uninterrupted fuel supplies to agricultural producers, as well as the situation in the fuel market in the regions of the Southern and North Caucasian federal districts.
Another important topic of the meeting was organizing work to ensure fuel labeling within the framework of the Government resolution, which provides for the possibility of production, import, release into circulation, and circulation of automotive gasoline of ecological classes K2, K3, and K4 until July 1, 2027. It was noted that this measure is temporary and aimed at saturating the domestic market with the necessary volumes of fuel and maintaining its stability. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that information about the fuel class should be presented in a form accessible to consumers so that citizens can make an informed choice.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Novak gave instructions to the relevant departments, regional authorities, and oil companies to continue coordinated work to supply the domestic market with fuel, monitor price dynamics, and ensure uninterrupted delivery of petroleum products to end consumers.
