Beijing, August 8 /Xinhua/ — More than 500 representatives from over 100 Taiwanese public organizations gathered in Beijing on Friday to participate in the Cross-Strait Public Organizations Exchange Festival 2026.

The festival will include visits and exchanges in five areas, including culture, technology, healthcare, grassroots joint governance, and youth education. The organizers also plan to hold a series of thematic forums for relevant organizations from both Beijing and Taiwan.

At the festival opening ceremony, Zhang Zhijun, chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Cross-Strait Relations, stated that Taiwanese public organizations have wide influence among local residents. He urged these organizations to encourage more residents of Taiwan to visit mainland China to see its development and changes firsthand, as well as to promote cross-strait exchanges.

At the cross-Strait branded goods fair, which also took place on the same day, various well-known brands from Beijing and Taiwan were showcased, giving visitors the opportunity to explore local products and cultural heritages from both sides in one place.
