Shanghai, August 6 /Xinhua/ — Medical professionals in Shanghai /Eastern China/ recently successfully saved a Russian citizen who suddenly suffered an acute myocardial infarction during a tourist trip. The incident occurred during the 54-year-old Alexander’s vacation in Shanghai. The man suddenly experienced intense, continuous chest pain. During the conversation, the patient and his wife were provided with complete and clear information about the treatment, and they signed informed voluntary consent for the operation.
Emergency coronary angiography confirmed the critical condition of the patient; his right coronary artery was occluded. This pathology falls into the category of high-risk forms of myocardial infarction and requires immediate restoration of blood flow.
The hospital’s interventional team successfully opened the occluded artery and placed a stent. The operation proceeded smoothly and methodically, which contributed to the patient’s rapid recovery. Before discharge, Alexander sincerely thanked the Chinese doctors for the timely assistance provided.
