The government has increased the funding for the Omsk region within the framework of the federal project “Clean Air”.

In 2026, the Omsk region will additionally receive 598 million rubles for the implementation of measures to reduce pollutant emissions as part of the federal project “Clean Air,” which is included in the national project “Environmental Well-being.” An order for the redistribution of budget financing for these purposes has been signed.

Additional funds will go towards the gasification of the private sector in Omsk. A detailed list of more than 2,800 buildings requiring conversion from stove to gas heating has been compiled there.

Taking into account the new order, the total amount of the subsidy allocated to the region for these purposes in 2025-2026 will amount to about 1 billion rubles.

The federal project “Clean Air” was launched in 2019 in 12 cities: Bratsk, Krasnoyarsk, Lipetsk, Magnitogorsk, Mednogorsk, Nizhny Tagil, Novokuznetsk, Norilsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Cherepovets, and Chita. By order of the President, from September 1, 2023, an additional 29 cities from 16 regions, mainly in Siberia and the Far East, have joined the project.

Comprehensive action plans are being implemented in these cities to reduce emissions from industrial enterprises, energy facilities, communal and transport infrastructure. Among these measures are the modernization of industrial enterprises, the conversion of private residential houses from wood and coal heating to gas or electric heating, the installation of solid fuel boilers with a high efficiency factor, the repair of tram tracks and trolleybus networks, and the purchase of more environmentally friendly models of public transport. All this will help reduce the volume of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and improve the environmental situation.
