10 years ago, the Radiosurgery Center began operating at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine. The center has established a full cycle of care for patients with brain diseases. This was reported by Sergey Sobyanin on his channel on in the messenger “Max”.
“Here, high-tech care is provided not only to Muscovites but also to patients from various regions of our country. Over 10 years, the center’s specialists have performed more than eight thousand high-tech operations. More than eight thousand patients have received care. The doctors combine radiosurgery with traditional treatment methods, and we constantly update the equipment for ultra-precise procedures,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

The Radiosurgery Center is the only unit within the Moscow healthcare system equipped with the “Gamma Knife” device. This technology allows for the treatment of brain tumors, vascular pathologies, and a number of functional disorders without open surgery, incisions, or anesthesia. The impact is targeted solely at the pathological focus. The patient is hospitalized for only one day. During the procedure, they remain conscious, which allows them to return to normal life immediately after treatment.

of the new building N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine. After its opening, the radiosurgery center will move to a new building and receive the most modern equipment, including the “CyberKnife” system,” added the Mayor of Moscow.

Unlike the gamma knife, which is used exclusively for treating intracranial formations, the CyberKnife allows targeting pathologies throughout the entire central nervous system. This will expand the capabilities of high-tech medical care and increase its accessibility for Muscovites.
