Based on project “Youth of Moscow The Moscow Student Council of Colleges, which unites 105 secondary vocational schools, operates here. Throughout the year, participants not only develop and organize events aimed at preserving historical memory but also join city patriotic campaigns of the project. The students participate in campaigns for Victory Day, Defender of the Fatherland Day, and commemorative dates of the Great Patriotic War.
How student clubs work
The activities of the clubs are built around open formats understandable to young people: thematic meetings, excursions to memorable places, communication with veterans, as well as the preparation of their own educational projects.
Each year, student associations participate in dozens of city-wide events, including those timed to commemorative dates and city-wide activities. Participation in them allows students to go beyond the college framework and see how their efforts become part of a larger common cause. For example, the students help organize commemorative events, take part in volunteer support, prepare media content and educational materials, popularizing the history and traditions of the capital among their peers. Interaction with veteran organizations plays a special role: within joint programs, students conduct interviews, collect memories, and create digital archives that are then used in educational projects.
A special place in the calendar of patriotic events is occupied by the “Victory Waltz” campaign: in the spring, 200 pairs of students from 77 capital colleges took part in it. Young men and women in 1940s costumes danced to the song “May Waltz” near the main entrance arch of VDNH — in this way, they honored the memory of their ancestors and expressed gratitude to the defenders of the Fatherland.
Student museums, literary and family projects
College of Multilevel Vocational Education The Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, together with the project and the Military-Patriotic Club “Avangard,” are organizing the campaign “Heroes of Russia (USSR) — My Namesakes”: students are invited to conduct research and prepare a presentation about the feat of a hero who shares their last name. More than 600 students have joined the event.

Voices Through the Fire” based on the poems of Yulia Drunina: five performance blocks reveal the fates of female medics who carried the wounded from the battlefield. The project’s goal is to preserve the memory of the orderlies’ heroic deeds and to show future medical professionals an example of professional responsibility.
The “Men of My Lineage” campaign in College of World Economy and Advanced Technologies and at the Institute of International Economic Relations it has already become a tradition. Participants share family stories about heroes: frontline soldiers, military personnel, mentors, labor dynasties. Materials are collected from home archives — photographs, letters, documents, video recordings. The main goal is to show that courage manifests in different ways and to strengthen the connection between generations.
Student participation in patriotic events and expeditions
Forpost Squad P.A. Ovchinnikov Polytechnic College Over almost 20 years, he conducted 111 expeditions and recovered the remains of 3,958 defenders of the Fatherland, identifying the names of 206 soldiers. Preparation for the trips is conducted year-round: students study history, search methods, tourist training, and archival work.
Squad “Dozor” College of Automation and Information Technologies No. 20 Over 18 years, he has conducted 45 expeditions; participants have found and reburied the remains of more than 950 soldiers. Members of the unit learn the basics of military training, military traditions, and can also take parachute training courses and make jumps from an An-2 aircraft.
Memorial patronage activities in the past academic year brought together more than 15 thousand Moscow schoolchildren and students: this is 27 percent more than in the previous year. Volunteers regularly care for graves, memorials, and monuments, improve the surroundings, and participate in commemorative ceremonies.
Thus, the volunteer squad “BlagoDareniye” College of Hospitality Industry and Management No. 23 regularly maintain the mass graves and the area around the first Eternal Flame in Moscow at the Preobrazhensky Memorial Cemetery. The guys clear the leaves, clean the paths, hold ceremonies with flower laying and a moment of silence. Support for participants of the Special Military Operation and humanitarian actions
Moscow colleges support the fighters of the special military operation and their families. Last year, students, parents, and educators collected and sent over 28 tons of humanitarian aid, as well as more than 35 thousand letters and postcards to the soldiers of the special military operation.
Volunteer activities of young Muscovites
More than 470 thousand Muscovites under the age of 17 participate in volunteer activities. For students, consultations, good lessons, training programs are held, methodological materials are provided, and multifunctional spaces of volunteer district centers “Good Place” are offered.
The work of student patriotic clubs reflects the overall ecosystem of youth policy in Moscow and supports the key directions of the “Youth of Moscow” project.
