Beijing, April 2 /Xinhua/ — Leading Chinese airlines, including Air China and China Southern Airlines, announced on Wednesday that starting April 5, they will increase the amount of the fuel surcharge for domestic flights.

Fuel surcharge for flights up to 800 km inclusive will be 60 yuan (about 8.69 USD), for flights over 800 km – 120 yuan.

For airline tickets for domestic flights sold on April 4 or before that date, in case of changes made on April 5 or after that date, the difference in price will not be charged in accordance with the new standards.

Currently, Chinese airlines are charging an additional fuel fee of 10 yuan for domestic routes up to 800 km and 20 yuan for longer air routes. -0-
