San Francisco, August 1 /Xinhua/ — Several people were killed in a shooting that occurred on Saturday at a fast-food restaurant in the city of Twin Falls, Idaho, in the northwest of the United States, with at least two injured. This was reported by local authorities.
The head of the city police stated at a press conference that the suspected shooter is dead. The police have not yet disclosed the exact number of casualties or clarified whether the suspect is included in the total number of victims.
Joshua Palmer, the public relations coordinator for the city of Twin Falls, previously told the media that as a result of the shooting which began in a restaurant around 2:30 PM local time and later spread to the surrounding area, at least three people died, and two others were injured.
The Twin Falls City Police Department initially characterized the incident as an active shooter situation and urged people to stay away from the incident area. Roads near the restaurant, including the Perrine Bridge, were closed. Police cordoned off the scene and questioned hundreds of witnesses.
