Cairo, August 2 /Xinhua/ — US embassies in several Middle Eastern countries on Saturday warned American citizens to exercise caution and “consider departure or be prepared to depart in case of escalation of tensions.”
Similar warnings were published on the websites of the United States diplomatic missions in countries such as Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
“Due to the escalating tensions in the Middle East, the security situation remains complex, and there is a possibility of an unforeseen escalation,” the statements say. Diplomats noted that Americans in the region should consider leaving or be prepared to depart if the conflict intensifies.
Embassies have recommended that U.S. citizens in the Middle East exercise caution and increased vigilance, and be prepared for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and possible transportation disruptions.
