Almaty, July 31 /Xinhua/ — The laying of the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea is actively ongoing in Kazakhstan, with commissioning planned by the end of 2026. This was announced on Friday by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan.
The optical cable, previously delivered from China to the port of Kuryk, and three massive basket containers weighing a total of 600 tons were loaded onto a specialized logistics ship and delivered to Baku.
As of today, these transport baskets have been completely emptied, and the entire digital artery has been successfully transferred to a special cable tank directly on the vessel. Thus, the vessel left the port of Baku and began construction of the line towards the port of Aktau. Under favorable weather conditions, completion of the direct laying of the submarine cable is expected within 15-20 days, the ministry reported. –0–
